All drivers would benefit from some degree of advice before applying for the test, even if this is only an assessed drive.
Advice is provided, freely, by our Group Approved Tutors. These are all Full Members of RoADA who have been approved by RoADA to undertake observed rides/drives and to provide advice. All drives except demonstration are carried out in the Associates own Car, which must be Taxed, Insured and hold a valid MOT, if required.
All advice is based on ‘Roadcraft’: The Essential Drivers and Riders Handbook; you will also need to have a good knowledge of the Highway Code. Both these books are readily available from good bookshops.
The training is geared to taking the RoADA Advanced riding/driving Test details of which can be found on the main RoADA web site (see links)
To receive training from Swansea Group Tutors, all you need to do is join as an Associate Member. Once you have joined you will be assigned a tutor. Then it's up to you to arrange a time and place to meet and away you go. How long it takes you to pass your test will depend on how competent you are to start with, and then how often you meet your tutor and how much practice you do between sessions. The more you practice, the sooner you'll be ready.
